Horseback Riding Lessons

The connection between a horse and it's rider can be a strong one. Sometimes that bond is instantaneous and sometimes it builds over time, but one thing is certain... that bond can be very strong and benefits both the horse and the rider. But don't take our word for it - watch the video to hear one father's perspective. Not to forget to mention, It's good for you too!

In addition to numerous trail options, we also take groups of people out to the beach to ride. Be forwarned though... some of our horses like to play in the water!

Camping

Camping is a great way for children and their families to get together in nature and enjoy some great fun while also getting exercise. Not all families can afford to buy their own camping equipment or pay for the campsite rentals, and that is where Empowerment Ranch comes in. We supply tents and other camping equipment to the families as well as arrange for the campsite. Our camping trips usually include swimming, kayaking and nature walks as well as the traditional things like stories and songs around a campfire. Participants get to learn how to pitch their tent, start a campfire without matches using a flint stone, and if they are interested we will include crafts like creating dream catchers from materials found around the campsite.

Anti Bullying Program

Working with kids who are on their third strke we will teach them alternate methods for dealing with their anger and emotions. A few weeks of working on site (starting with general labor and working up to taking care of the animals) will give them a safe place to use that energy which often manifests itself in negative ways. Eventually these kids will graduate to being volunteers in other programs, and we have found they will also make great friends in the process.
